Conversation Partners
- Want to practice speaking English and have engaging conversations with someone?
- Interested in expanding your vocabulary and conversation skills?
- Confused by idioms and colloquialisms?
Conversation Partners provides the opportunity to meet new peers and learn some of the nuances of conversational English while having fun.
Make an appointment with a Writing and Communication Center tutor for a 30-minute or 60-minute session. You can set an agenda which might include what you want to talk about and what you want to achieve at the end of the meeting!
During conservations, you and a tutor can discuss a wide range of topics: including conversational tips & tricks, current affairs, pop culture, academic English, culture (such as your own culture and/or adjusting to culture shock), future goals and aspirations, or even just your day-to-day activities.
Make an appointment with us through EAB Navigate. Consider choosing a specific tutor if you have a preference. We can meet by appointment or drop-in, virtual (via Zoom) or in-person. Hope to see you soon!
Frequently Asked Questions about conference services
When can I talk to a live person?
Call us at 425-352-5253 during our regular office hours.
Do I need to register to use this system?
Nope. Just complete the required form and email your paper to us. It's that easy!
What kind of response can I expect? Will you edit my paper?
Rather than editing your paper, our writing consultants will provide strategies to help you improve your writing. We'll ask clarifying questions, show you examples for revision, and offer suggestions that will help you through the writing process. Give yourself plenty of time to revise your work with the new ideas and techniques provided in the consultant's response.
