澳门赌场 Outdoor Wellness Leaders (OWLs) are the trip planners and leaders for all Outdoor Wellness trips and events. 澳门赌场y also work in the Nest Gear Shop and can help you prepare for your next outdoor adventure.

From rock climbing to backpacking to survival skills and more, the OWLs are ready to help you in planning your next outdoor adventure.


Meet the 2023-2024 Outdoor Wellness Staff!

Amy- Outdoor Wellness Leader

Amy is a 1st-year OWL.  She is a senior at UWB majoring in Psychology and minoring in Gender, Women, and Sexualtiy Studies.  Amy is looking forward to getting to share her experiences and grow the campus community by helping to continue to grow student connections to one another and nature!

Fatma- Outdoor Wellness Leader

Fatma is a 1st-year OWL who is excited for a full year of fun in the outdoors! She is a student at the University of Washington majoring in Law, Economics, and Public Policy. She cherishes moments spent within the world’s beauty. Fatma is a nature enthusiast to her core who has a special love for lakes and beaches. She enjoys swimming, paddle boarding, and kayaking. She loves connecting with new people and sharing fun experiences with them!

Gabriel- Outdoor Wellness Leader

Gabriel is a 1st-year OWL and a senior at Cascadia pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainable Practices. He loves to help others feel welcome and included in outdoor spaces and is looking forward to making fun, shared memories. He hopes to attend grad school next year and pursue further education in terrestrial ecology. Gabriel is excited to share his passion for the outdoors with curious and open-minded individuals! Some of his favorite activities include backpacking, canoeing, trail running, Vipassana meditation, climbing, and skiing.

Link- Outdoor Wellness Leader

Link is a 2nd year OWL and a student at Cascadia College. He became an OWL to expand his abilities and exchange knowledge with anyone and everyone he can meet. He loves environmental sciences, especially marine biology, and yearns to learn all he can about every species of crab on Earth. He also enjoys camping, kayaking, and cycling and wants to expand his experience in outdoor activities.

Max- Outdoor Wellness Leader

Max is a returning 3rd-year OWL! He is currently attending the UW Bothell Business School! Max wanted to become an OWL to connect UW and Cascadia students through this program and to bring free education to everyone through the outdoors! He is looking forward to connecting the program with the education that he is bringing to the team and looks forward to meeting everyone while camping and especially backpacking! He enjoys teaching knife carving, primitive fire making, and animal tracking!

Neal- Outdoor Wellness Leader

Neal is a returning 2nd year OWL and a senior in the Earth System Science major at UWB. Neal became an OWL because he enjoyed participating in the different activities that the OWL’s did during his first year at UWB. He wants to continue to create awesome programs that everyone at Cascadia and UWB will enjoy as much as he did. His favorite activities are running around in the forest, canoeing/kayaking, and goofing around.

Rileigh- Outdoor Wellness Coordinator

Rileigh is a returning for her 4th year with the program and is the Outdoor Wellness Coordinator. She is majoring in Conservation and Restoration Science and minoring in Biology at UW Bothell. She became an OWL because she adores being outside whenever possible and encouraging others to engage with our natural world in a respectful way. She believes that everyone has the right to a personal relationship with the environment and hopes to act as a bridge for those who are just entering the world of outdoor recreation. Rileigh’s favorite activities include reading, rock climbing, kickboxing, playing guitar, hiking, backpacking, playing with her cat Leo, meeting new people, learning facts about the environment, and spontaneously breaking into song!

Roan- Outdoor Wellness Leader

Roan is excited to begin their 1st year as an OWL and help provide accessible nature connection for everyone. 澳门赌场y love being on the water – kayaking, canoeing, and portaging are some favorites – and orienteering will always have a special place in their heart. 澳门赌场y have a passion for stewardship both in outdoor spaces and communities and are always looking to support and tend to shared spaces. Roan’s utmost favorite activity is running wild in the woods and seeing where the day takes them – something they hope to share with others as an OWL.
