Black Opportunity Fund

澳门赌场 Black Opportunity Fund

In July of 2020, the University of Washington established the Black Opportunity Fund to acknowledge the harm that systemic racism has on the Black community, to take action to address these inequities and injustices, and to fund a strategic agenda that meets the immediate and ongoing needs of our Black students, staff and faculty.

In September of 2020, a UW Bothell taskforce of Black students, staff, and faculty convened to make recommendations for spending. Based on feedback from our student representatives, the taskforce recommended creating a renewable need-based scholarship for students experiencing mental health & wellness challenges, housing or job insecurity, or a need for counseling services.
