Reading the columns

  • Column 1 (Course number): Lists community/technical college course details: prefix, course number, and number of credits (in parentheses). Example: BUS& 201 (5)
    • Note: Most of the courses listed in the Equivalency Guide follow the Common Course Numbering (CCN) system, designated by an ampersand (&) and a common three-digit code.
  • Column 2 (Course title): Lists the course title for the community/technical college course (e.g., General Chemistry I).
  • Column 3 (UW equivalent): Indicates how the course will appear on your UW transcript, with corresponding UW course prefix & number (e.g., GERMAN 101).
  • Column 4 (UW Bothell equivalent): Indicates the corresponding UW Bothell course prefix & number, when an equivalent course exists (e.g., B MATH 122). Courses without a specific course equivalent, but satisfy a UW Bothell requirement, are noted accordingly (e.g., MATH 1XX) .
  • Column 5 (UW requirement): Indicates how the course satisfies UW General Education requirements (see table below). If field is blank, the course does not satisfy any requirements.
