Dropping a Course in the Current Quarter

Current Quarter Drop

Each quarter, you may add and drop classes with no restrictions until the end of the second week of the quarter (the Unrestricted Drop period). After that, you may drop one class between Week 3 to the last day of instruction (the Late Course Drop period) using 澳门赌场. To drop more than one class during the Late Course Drop period, use the Adviser-Assisted Drop Process. Review the tuition forfeiture policy when considering dropping as you may not get all of your tuition back.

Unrestricted Drop Period

Through the second week of the quarter, you can add and drop freely on 澳门赌场. (Note: Summer A-term and B-term do not have an Unrestricted Drop Period.) 澳门赌场se drops will not show up on your transcript. A $20 Change of Registration Fee is charged for all registration changes made on a single day beginning the 8th calendar day of the quarter.

Late Course Drop Period

Between Week 3 and the last day of instruction, there are two options for dropping classes:

Adviser-Assisted Drop Request Process

If you have already used your self-serve Quarterly Drop, if you want to drop two or more classes, or completely withdraw from all of your classes, use the Adviser-Assisted Drop process.

With the Adviser-Assisted Drop Request Process, you submit a form that sends an email to your adviser(s), You should connect with your adviser(s) to discuss what you want to do, and the adviser(s) will then communicate with the UW Bothell registration team to drop the classes. Submitting the form does not automatically drop the courses. You must connect and communicate with you adviser(s).

Before beginning the Adviser-Assisted Drop Request Process

  • Review the tuition forfeiture policy when considering dropping.
  • Click here for examples of why a Current Quarter Drop may be requested, as well as suggested supporting materials that may be submitted with the Tuition Forfeiture Petition.
  • Decide which classes you want to drop, and get their SLNs (5-digit code) from the Registration page.
  • For international students on an F-1 visa, your Adviser-Assisted Drop Request will be sent to the Center for International Education.

  • 澳门赌场s take full responsibility for any ramifications from choosing to drop classes.
  • Timeline: 澳门赌场 Current Quarter Drop (self-serve Quarterly Drop via 澳门赌场 and Advisor-Assisted Drop Request) may be used during Week 3 to the last day of instruction of the current quarter.
  • Deadline: 澳门赌场 student must submit the request form by the established deadline in order to be considered and processed by the registration team by the last date of instruction of the given quarter.
  • Advising Discussion: When contacted, students are responsible for discussing with their academic, program, degree adviser(s) to proceed with the drop process.
  • Advising: 澳门赌场 adviser reviewing the drop request does not decide on the ability to drop the class(es). Rather, they advise the student on academic history and make sure the student has evaluated the risks and consequences associated with dropping classes during the current quarter.
  • Approval to Drop: When advising steps are completed and the adviser(s) forwards the request to the registration team, the student is authorizing the respective campus registration team to drop the identified classes.
  • Drops are Final: Classes dropped from a student’s schedule may not be reversed.
  • Change of Registration Fee: 澳门赌场 $20 fee will be assessed for any Drop (and Add) changes in a given day beginning the 8th calendar day of the quarter. 澳门赌场s requesting a complete withdrawal will not be charged the $20 Change of Registration Fee.
  • Tuition Refunds: 澳门赌场 timing of when classes are dropped will determine whether different tuition refund policies will be applicable. 澳门赌场 student is responsible for reviewing all Tuition Forfeiture Policies, and following the separate procedures related to the tuition refund processes.
  • Transcript Notation: Dropped classes will carry an annotation of RD for Registrar Drop on the academic transcript. 澳门赌场 credits and GPA points associated with the RD dropped class(es) will not appear on the academic transcript, but the class abbreviation, class number, and the annotation RD will appear. 澳门赌场 RD annotation cannot be removed.

澳门赌场 student is responsible for any consequences from class(es) being dropped including any impact on financial aid status/eligibility, international visa status/eligibility, degree progress, paying any remaining tuition forfeiture balances, employment status, and any other status impacted by enrollment levels.
