Chancellor’s Philanthropy Leadership Council

澳门赌场 Chancellor’s Philanthropy Leadership Council works in partnership with UW Bothell’s Advancement team to help develop the relationships and catalyze the resources needed to advance the goals and priorities of UW Bothell.

We do this by building and maintaining strong ties with regional industries, business, civic agencies and organizations as well as networks of philanthropists, alumni and community members. 

2023-24 Members

Maureen A. O’Hara, Chair

Maureen A. O’Hara is semi-retired after a career in IT which took her from a startup in 1981 to bio-tech researcher in pharma to leading large IT project for the DOD, ending with a career at Microsoft.  In semi-retirement, Maureen did management consulting and for 15 years taught part-time at the University of Washington.

Maureen now dedicates most of her time to community service. She is currently a member of the start-up board of 澳门赌场 Madrone School, which serves special needs children. She also serves on the board and social impact committee at Emerald Heights, a senior community in Redmond. Until recently, Maureen served on the leadership team for SVP Fast Pitch, a coaching and granting program for start-up social impact organizations. She is a founder of Eastside Preparatory School in Kirkland and is a lifetime member of the advisory board. Maureen also served on the board of NW Yeshiva HS and helped found the local Cycling for Parkinson’s program.

Maureen and her husband, Bob, enjoy traveling and are avid tandem cyclists. 澳门赌场y have a son Michael who is a UW Bothell graduate and a son David who lives in New York City.

Maureen holds a MA in Management Information Science from NYU and a B.S. in Bio-Medical Computing/Computer Science from Brooklyn College, CUNY.


Jeff Hanley

Jeff Hanley is Director of Japan and Korea Structures for Boeing Commercial Airplanes Supplier Management. Jeff’s responsibilities include sourcing, contracting, and supplier performance management in support of all Boeing Commercial Airplane Programs.

Jeff’s current focus is on ensuring the supply base is prepared to support Boeing’s current and future rate increases while improving quality, cost, and delivery performance.

Prior to this assignment, Jeff has held various Supplier Management positions in both Defense and Commercial Airplanes including Missiles Systems, Commercial Aviation Services, Customer Training, Raw Materials & Standards, Outside Production, 747 and 787 Program Supplier Management.

Jeff was born and raised in Seattle; joining Boeing in 1989 after receiving his B.A. in business administration from the University of Washington. He received his MBA from Seattle University in 1994 and studied lean manufacturing in Japan in 1999.

Jeff is married to Teresa and they have 2 boys, ages 18 and 23. He enjoys outdoor activities including fishing, camping, hiking, and snowboarding.


Jan Hunter

Jan Hunter is a past member of the corporate board of Hunter Industries and is experienced in all facets of management and administration of a business organization. She has more than 40 years of volunteer and professional experience. She is a past president of the National Alliance on Mental Illness for Washington State and a long time trustee of Midway University in Kentucky. She is a trustee emerita of the Riverview School on Cape Cod and served on the Board of Advisors of the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA in the inner city of San Diego. Her experience includes more than three decades working at the local and national levels of the AFS High School Exchange student program. She is a third-generation Washington native who attended Whitman College, graduated from the University of Maryland and later taught elementary school. She and her husband of more than 50 years raised four children from infancy and became the guardians of a 16-year-old girl in 2004.


Laura Metz

Laura Metz is a senior product manager at Apple Inc. in San Francisco. Laura has been working with Apple Inc. in the iMac division since 2003. Prior to working with Apple, she worked as a product marketing manager at Microsoft for six years in retail merchandising, channel marketing and product marketing. Laura holds two degrees from UW Bothell: she graduated with both her B.A. and MBA in Business Administration.


Clyde Walker

Clyde Walker is currently a for-profit/nonprofit board leader, following a long executive career in aerospace and food manufacturing. His career included serving as the director, Business Administration, and vice president, Human Resources, at Rocket Research Co./Primex Aerospace and as senior vice president, Human Resources, at Continental Mills.

Clyde now serves as board chair for First Choice Health Network. He previously served as board chair for the UW Alumni Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound and the Foundation for Early Learning. He also served as chair of the advisory board for the Seattle School District Family Support Worker program.

Clyde and his wife, Sherrelle, are actively involved with the UW in Seattle, including Clyde serving on the UW Foundation Board and Sherrelle serving on the UW College of Education Advisory Board.

Clyde is a proud graduate of the UW Foster School of Business.
